My guest is David Sims, the owner of David Sims Computers and Services in Owensboro, KY. David also plays the piano for Masonville Baptist Church. Since David works on computers all the time and plays the piano when he is not sitting behind a computer, I wanted to give him an exercise to strengthen his wrists.

Anyone who is on the computer, or plays a musical instrument or any sort of sports or maybe does a lot of work with their hands needs to do this exercise. Everyday functional activities can be enhanced with strong wrists and forearms. The following wrist exercise will strengthen your forearms, wrists, and help develop your flexor and extensor muscles. Give it a try!

Seated Wrist Straight Curls - This is to develop your flexor muscles. Sit on a Stability Ball or a chair and  position your forearms, palms facing upward, with a 3-5-, 10-, or even 20lb weight in hand, flex your wrist back. Keep the forearms on the table and just move your wrist.  Do 2-3 sets of 10-16 repetitions.

Seated Reverse Wrist Curls -  Position with your forearms on a desk or table, palms facing downward. Hold a weight in the hand and flex your wrist as you bring the weight back towards you.  Do this for 2-3 sets of 10-16 repetitions.
