Heather Haynes is the cafeteria manager at Sorgho Elementary School where she was recently notified she was the winner of the National School Nutrition Association 2019 Legislation Action Conference.

Heather submitted a video describing the benefits of a healthy school lunch.  The awesome thing...she involved the whole school.

Along with National recognition Haynes also wins a trip to travel to Washington D.C. to be a voice for our kids here in Daviess County and their nutrition.  Heather will be taking along as her plus one Louise Weston, cafeteria manager, at Daviess County Middle School.  Weston was named DCPS Kids First Customer Service Award Winner for 2018-19.

These ladies will join school nutrition advocates from across the nation as they meet with legislators and advocate for nation public policy efforts supporting school nutrition programs.  The conference will take place in February.

In addition to this Haynes has plans of giving back not only to Owensboro-Daviess County but also Washington D.C.  In January, she will kickoff a community wide innitiative called Operation Hot Hands to get everyone involved!

We could not be more proud of Heather.  Way to raise the bar and go to bat for our kids.  So excited to see what more you can do!
