In December, Sorgho Elementary Cafeteria Manager, Heather Haynes, received the awesome news their school nutrition video was chosen from thousands to represent nationally in Washington D.C. Here's the latest news from Sorgho!

Heather Haynes is the cafeteria manager at Sorgho Elementary School where she was recently notified she was the winner of the National School Nutrition Association 2019 Legislation Action Conference.

An honor flight took place this week from the Owensboro Sportscenter for local veterans. Eight WWII veterans are being honored during this flight.

Late Wednesday evening, OHS students loaded a bus headed to Washington D.C.  The opportunity to attend the newly elected presidents' inauguration was presented to students at the beginning of the year and several students quickly took advantage and signed up.

The 5th graders at Meadow Lands Elementary have worked hard to raise the money needed for a class trip to Washington D.C.  Their hard work and determination paid off this week as the class boarded a bus and headed for the Nations Capitol.
