Saturday's temperatures melted some of the snow on the roads and some of the ice accumulation from Friday evening creating extremely wet roads and leaving standing water.  A special weather statement has gone into affect for the Tri-State. Read the statement here.

The radar shows that the inclement weather has ceased however the temperatures for tonight will freeze the water left standing in the streets.

...BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND LINGERING WATER WILL LEAD TO
ICY ROADS TONIGHT...

TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW FREEZING EARLY THIS EVENING, WITH
OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE UPPER TEENS TO LOWER 20S. LINGERING WATER
ON ROADS FROM RECENT RAINFALL AND MELTING SNOW WILL FREEZE
TONIGHT. ICY CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY, AND ON SUNDAY TEMPERATURES
WILL NOT REACH THE FREEZING MARK IN MOST AREAS. PEOPLE NEED TO
SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION DRIVING THROUGH THE WEEKEND, AND ALSO
WALKING ON SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS.
