Longtime WEHT/Channel 25 lead news anchor Brad Byrd is the guest speaker at this Thursday’s Rooster Booster Breakfast which can be heard on WOMI at 6:00am.

Elected to the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle Hall of Fame, Byrd is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow award-winning reporter and now in his 34th year as NEWS 25's lead anchor. Byrd has been involved in broadcast journalism since the age of 18. He was 26 when he became NEWS 25's evening news anchor in 1978. In April, 2005, Brad became one of six broadcasters inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame since its inception in 1966. He is the first Southern Indiana broadcast journalist elected to the Hall.

In November, 2005, Brad became the first Evansville broadcaster inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle Hall of Fame, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to television.

Turner Construction, which is overseeing the building of the new OMHS campus, is the Rooster Booster sponsor for February. The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. in the Community Center (building E) at Owensboro Christian Church at 2818 New Hartford Road. The $10 charge includes a buffet breakfast.
