Aerial Shots of Owensboro from Inside a 1928 Ford Tri-Motor Passenger Plane [PHOTOS]
For whatever reasons, it had been 28 years between the time I was on a passenger jet flying back from Pittsburgh in 1993 and when I boarded a 1928 Ford Tri-Motor Transcontinental Air Transport Thursday afternoon.
Nearly three decades of being "grounded" came to an end in the best possible way on a beautiful day that featured a sky so clear the clouds went all the way to the horizon.
The Experimental Aircraft Association's Ford Tri-Motor Tour for spring and summer of 2021 begins in Owensboro this weekend and I was invited aboard a media flight.
It was very exciting to be in something so packed with history.
And, yes, I got pictures.
See Inside a 1928 Passenger Airplane AND See Owensboro from Way Up in the Sky
I was fortunate enough to be a passenger aboard a 1928 Ford Tri-Motor 5-AT-B Transcontinental Air Transport. We flew all the way around Owensboro. It was amazing to get a bird's-eye view of the city from inside such a beautiful old aircraft.
