As I walked through Eastland Mall yesterday, I noticed two long-time stores seemed to be closing their doors.

The Limited which sells women's clothing has an 75% off sale going on now. When I asked if they are going out of business the sales associate said they did not know yet. According to Forbes, it seems that several Limited locations are going out of business and are not accepting returns or exchanges during their inventory clearance but some stores are operating as business as usual and are only expecting a restructuring.

Store associates and an online customer service representative from the apparel chain, which is reportedly expected to file for bankruptcy in the coming weeks and facing a possible liquidation, offered mixed messages on the future of the 240-store chain — or lack thereof. - FORBES

Aeropostale (Yeah, does anyone actually know how to pronounce this?) has an inventory clearance going on now where everything is 80% off. They will be closing their doors Dec 31st but will be reopening Jan 6, 2017.

It is no secret that a good chunk, if not the bulk of retail shopping is done online and retailers cannot sustain paying rent at malls and shopping centers throughout the nation. The bottom line is retailers make more from merchandise sold online because they do not have to pay as many employees, rent, or all the other expenses that come along with a storefront. There's also much less lost from theft. But, when it comes to buying clothes or shoes - several consumers still want to try before they buy!

So, only time will tell! If you received a Limited gift that you cannot use, you might try selling it to Style Encore Evansville to the left of Buffalo Wild Wings east and if you received an Aeropostale gift, try selling it to Plato's Closet of Evansville in the same shopping center to the right of BW3s.
