*Disclaimer: Most likely drinking coffee or wine as you read this I'm Melissa, just living each day trying not to adopt every dog I see. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, I fell in love with writing as an adolescent that filled journals with angsty complaining, which later turned into short stories that can only be described as humor from my adult perspective. My passion for writing led me to Evansville, IN where I earned my Bachelor of Arts from UE. In my own life's plot twist, I then went on to the field of early education where I now teach young children. When I'm not writing or in my classroom, I enjoy reading, constantly rearranging my home décor, and any activity that allows me to pretend I live in the woods. I earned my Master's in Writing in 2023 and continue to pursue writing in whatever capacity it leads me. Home is where my dogs boss me around but live rent free. In lieu of being a huge advocate for domestic violence awareness, suicide prevention, and rescue animals, I also have a talent for interjecting F.R.I.E.N.D.S quotes into my daily conversations and will always yell "cows!" when spotting them on road trips. I am excited to share this space with you and write about life's adventures, local happenings, causes that occupy my heart, and the simple things that become the most pivotal.
