The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the KY 81 Green River Bridge in McLean County on Monday afternoon, March 26, 2012.

The lane restriction with alternating traffic flow controlled by flaggers starting at 12 Noon, CDT, Monday,  is to allow maintenance and inspection work on the bridge structure.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic on the bridge approaches.  Delays should be minimal, generally less than 4 minutes.

Appropriate caution is required in the work zone where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel will be on the bridge deck in close proximity to traffic flow.  Work at this site is expected to be complete by about 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The KY 81 Green River Bridge at Calhoun was constructed in 1999.  The 1,137 foot-long structure is a modernized Warren through-truss bridge that carries approximately 3,700 vehicles across the Green River in an average day.
