First off, let me start by saying that I've never owned nor do I plan to own a chicken (or any type of fowl). I like to eat chicken and owning one would just be weird. I mean, I could never eat dog meat, ya know?

But, if you are a chicken farmer or just keep some as pets, it's important to take care of them when they venture out into the cold. My aunt once had a really stupid chicken that flew to the top of a very tall tree and couldn't get down. Said chicken might not have made it out of the tree... It was a little too high up to get to in time.

In any event, it's important to take care of your outdoor animals. Horses, dogs, cats and even chickens need shelter and if possible, additional protection from the bitter cold. So, now I present "chicken sweaters." Yes, chicken sweaters are now a thing. Who knew?

And, you can actually make them yourself. Again, who knew?

So, if you know a chilly chicken this winter - make it a sweater or dress it in Dijon, whatever works best for you.
