In Kentucky we've seen the following high school sports teams arrive in the last couple of years: fishing, bowling, and archery. So it makes sense that maybe we're ready for a BBQ Team? One state is already on board.

And it's no surprise Texas would the be ones leading the charge on competitive high school barbecuing.

Now while only a handful of schools in North Texas are competing, the idea is gaining popularity. It could even lead to additional vocational education like "How to Be a Pitmaster 101".

Am I crazy or would this be a fantastic idea for Kentucky schools? Especially for those students who either A) are not all that into sport-sports and B) who love to cook and experiment with recipes. It would take community involvement to another level.
