Kentucky Second Congressional District Representative Brett Guthrie is the guest speaker at Thursday’s Chamber of Commerce Rooster Booster Breakfast.

Congressman Guthrie serves on the House Energy and Commerce (E&C) Committee for the 112th Congress.  E&C is the oldest standing legislative committee in the House with broad jurisdiction over our nation’s energy, healthcare, telecommunications and consumer product safety policies.

He was elected to Congress in 2008 after serving for ten years in the Kentucky Senate where he chaired the Transportation Committee. He’s a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY and served as a Field Artillery Officer in the 101st Airborne Division - Air Assault at Fort Campbell. Guthrie later earned a Master's Degree from Yale University in Public and Private Management.

B&J Sanitation is the August Rooster Booster Breakfast sponsor. The breakfast is held in the Community Center at Owensboro Christian Church and begins at 7:30 a.m.

Reservations are required and should be made by calling the Chamber at (270) 926-1860 by noon on Wednesday, August 10th. They can also be made online at www.owensboro.com/chamber. The $10 fee includes a buffet breakfast.
