The Daviess County High School Softball Team Headed for State Tournament in Lexington
It's a HUGE weekend for the Lady Panther softball team at Daviess County High School in Owensboro. This afternoon at 2pm, they are boarding a bus that's Lexington-bound. Lexington, Kentucky is the site of the 2021 State High School Fast Pitch Softball Championship and the Daviess County Lady Panthers have battled their way into the Elite Eight.
Play gets underway Friday and here's a look at your quarterfinal matchups. As you'll see, Daviess County will be on the field in the second game of the day.
Quaterfinal #1: Boyle County vs. Lewis County (11am EST)
Quarterfinal #2: Daviess County vs. Pendleton County (2pm EST)
Quarterfinal #3: Lafayette vs. Butler (5pm EST)
Quarterfinal #4: Warren East vs. Green County (8pm EST)
If Daviess County wins Friday, they'll be back in action on Saturday in the semifinals. The championship game is set for 2pm Eastern on Sunday. Join us in wishing the Daviess County Lady Panthers well and cheering them on.
Today, the public is encouraged to stop by the official send off for the team. That event will take place this afternoon at 1:30 at Daviess County High School on New Hartford Road here in town. The team will board the bus and hit the road for state at 2pm.
