Dick’s Sporting Goods Destroying Guns Pulled From Stores
Many retailers in wake of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting in February and one at Marshall County High School in Kentucky in January, decided to raise the minimum age for gun purchases. Dick's Sporting Goods is going a step further in eradicating any sign of assault weapons that existed in their stores.
Rather than returning the stockpile to the manufacturers the retailer removed from their stores, Dick's is destroying all the assault-style weapons and accessories. The parts will be sent to a salvage company to be recycled.
The retailer is also facing two lawsuits over the new age limit on firearm purchases.
There are Dick's locations in Evansville in the Tri-State, and the other nearest store in Kentucky is in Bowling Green.
