Volunteers are essential to the Christmas Wish mission every single year. This year, things just look a bit different. We want to give you the opportunity to change lives this holiday season, but we have to do it responsibly. If you would like to volunteer, here's what you need to know.

Over the last week many of you have asked if we need help with Christmas Wish. The answer is yes, on certain days. We can't exceed 20 people in the space at one time, so we have to schedule around that. Please email barb@wbkr.com if you want to volunteer, so I can check availability and add you to the list.

I've been in contact with the Green River Health Department to ensure that we have all safety protocols in place. We can't put volunteers at risk, when so many families need us this year. We're over 800 letters so far and it's still early in the season.

The Green River District Health Department wants to reinforce this guidance:

To avoid close contact, stay at least 6 feet away from others.
Wear a mask when you have to go out in public.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

We are supplying gloves, masks if needed, many sanitizing stations and temperature checks each shift. We ask that you reschedule your volunteer time if you're sick, may have had contact with someone testing positive for COVID, or if running a fever. We will be sanitizing everything at the end of the day and will be adhering to the CDC and Health Department guidelines. We must do this to protect all volunteers and to be sure that every child in the tri-state gets a visit from Santa. We can take NO chances.

We look forward to hearing from you! Again, contact barb@wbkr.com if you wish to volunteer. Let me know the time and hours that you wish to help. We are once again in the Towne Square Mall at the front entrance.

Monday-Friday 9-6 and then on Saturday from 12-4.

We'd love to see you!

And, if you're in need or know someone that is, fill out your wish letter today!
