6 Things You Should NOT Buy At An Illinois Dollar Tree For $1.25
I love Dollar Tree because I'm always looking to save as much as I can and they're conveniently located right down the street from my apartment.
Dollar Tree is a small store and I know where everything is located within a a few feet of each other around the store. I like that! As for Walmart, that's a whole mission to get to point A to point B... IF the product is in the location you think it is.
Sometimes baking goods are in the 'Birthday' aisle and sometimes they're in the 'Baking' aisle in the food department. WHY? That's so much walking and too much work. That's why many turn to Dollar Tree for a fast shopping experience.
Because Dollar Tree raised their prices to $1.25 per item, some things I really can't justify buying anymore because it's just not worth it. That's how this list was born.
6 things you SHOULD NOT buy at an Illinois Dollar Tree for $1.25
HAIR PRODUCTS - Target is a pretty pricey store, but they do, in fact, have inexpensive shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for like .88 cents a bottle! Stock up to save a few trips.
CANNED GOODS - For $1.25? No thanks. Head over to Walmart and they're ONLY .78 cent per can! This is perfect if you're looking to donate to food pantries in your community or need non-perishable items.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES - School Supply Drives are always happening and you most likely want to get your kids' supplies for as little as possible. You can buy in bulk at Meijer with all their clearance sales! Sometimes you can get a BOGO deal, too.
COOKING UTENSILS - If you're indecisive like me, Target has a 10-piece set for just $9.00. That's .90 cents a piece. You save so much time standing in the aisle figuring out which utensils you need, it's a quick grab-n-go!
UMBRELLAS - It's simple: One step outside and your umbrella will be broken. You'll save so much money from continuously replacing your Dollar Tree one, TRUST ME!
SOCKS - Kohls has a 10-pack of socks for $4.50.
In the end, don't listen to me if you'd rather shop for convenience over quality. If you're fine spending $1.25 for things you can get for half the cost elsewhere then that's awesome. For me, I'm struggling and looking for any way to make my money go a long way so this list is really helpful when considering my budget in the long run!
