Last year, the Daviess County High School Panthers won the inaugural Big Red Battle. This year, the Owensboro High School Red Devils want a rematch and they're about to get it. The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center just announced plans for the Big Red Battle II and it gets underway on Monday, August 29th!

Here's how it works!

The DCHS Panthers and the OHS Red Devils are set to play their annual rivalry game on Friday, September 2nd at Rash Stadium. To get the teams geared up for the game and to help out a tremendous community cause in the process, the Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center, which provides blood and blood products to nine different medical facilities in the region, is hosting a blood drive that pits football team against football team.

Students, players, parents, coaches and fans are asked to turn out and give blood in support of their favorite team.  The winning team will be announced at half time of the rivalry game on the 2nd.

Those donating on behalf of Daviess County will receive a black t-shirt and will help raise money for Raise RED.  $5 will be donated for each successful blood donation in honor of the Panthers. OHS Students who donate will receive a ticket to the rivalry game and get a red t-shirt for their blood donation.
