Ten Favorite Photos from My Vacation in Rio de Janeiro [Gallery]
I just got back from an absolutely amazing vacation to Rio de Janeiro. Kevin and I have talked about visiting Brazil since Rio hosted the Summer Olympics in 2016. For two weeks, we watched the Olympics and were mesmerized by how beautiful Rio looked on TV. Well, now that I have been there, I can tell you first-hand. It is breathtaking. I love to travel and I have been a lot of places, but Rio de Janeiro is right at the top of the list. In fact, this may be my single favorite city I have ever visited.
Now, I thought about sharing multiple photos of nearly every single attraction we visited. But I think I took about 300 to 400 different pictures. So, I tried to narrow down my photo library to my ten favorites (with an honorable mention). I'm not going to lie. This task was difficult and I have absolutely ZERO idea which ones I am going to get made into Mixtiles. LOL.
However, I think I chose some good ones for you. I think these photos will give you an idea just how beautiful and majestic this city is- from the Christ the Redeemer statue (which literally towers over Rio from every imaginable angle), to Sugar Loaf Mountain (with its cable cars full of tourists), to the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, the mind-blowing street art and beyond.
Here's what I mean! And, by the way, our masks were only removed for photos.
