Meet Aiden Calloway.  Aiden celebrated his 9th birthday on Friday, September 9th. Three days later, on Monday, September 12th, his young life changed almost instantly. And it changed dramatically.

Aiden was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma, a uniquely rare form of cancer. In fact, according to the American Cancer Society, T-cell lymphomas make up less than 15% of the non-Hodkin lymphomas in the United States. Sadly, Aiden found himself among those in that 15%.

After being diagnosed, Aiden was immediately flown to Norton's Children's Hospital in Louisville and he has been receiving chemotherapy treatments there since.

Friends and family have set up a GoFundMe account to help Aiden's parents offset their travel expenses and mounting monthly bills. The ultimate goal of the fundraiser is to make enough money to purchase the Calloways a dependable vehicle to make that necessary back-and-forth travel possible. At this point in treatment, it appears that Aiden will be required to be in Louisville weekly (for a minimum of a couple of years) for continued treatment.

While donations to the GoFundMe page continue (and you can CONTRIBUTE HERE), there is an additional fundraiser planned for Aiden and his family. It's a Benefit Chili Supper and Auction set for Saturday, October 22nd at the Fordsville Fire Department.

As you can see, the event is sponsored by the Local Modern Woodmen of America, who have agreed to match proceeds raised up to $2500. Admission to the benefit is free, but minimum donations will be required for the chili supper.

The event is also going feature some great auction items. According to Nicole Potter, who's helping spread the word about the benefit, there are lots of donated gift certificates from businesses in the area: Sawmill Pizza in Fordsville, Mil's Dairy Drive-IN, Corder's Auto Detailing in Fordsville, a leaf blower and more.

There's also a gun raffle.
