Though the 2020 season was been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Friday After 5 has been prepping for the 2021 season.  That preparation included the search for a new full-time Executive Director and this week they have announced their decision.
“After a very thorough search and the hard work of our search committee, the Board of Directors is delighted to welcome Francine Marseille to lead Friday After 5 into the future,” said Jay Velotta, President of Friday After 5. “Francine comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and an extensive background in entertainment and event management.” Velotta continues “We are pleased that our search efforts helped us select such a skilled candidate.”
 Here's the official job description:
The Executive Director (ED) position is responsible for overseeing the daily administration, programs, and strategic plan of Friday After 5; they will provide leadership to volunteers and perform other related work as required. Key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach, as well as responsibility for the organization’s consistent achievement of the Friday After 5mission. This full-time position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Friday After 5 was formed back in 1997 and has continued to grow since.  Next year marks the 25th Anniversary Season.  Hailed as "Where the Weekend Begins," Friday After 5 begins each season mid-May and offers music on multiple stages in downtown Owensboro (at the RiverPark Center, the Owensboro Convention Center, and the Overlook Theatre at Smothers Park).
Here at WBKR, we are a proud media sponsor of Friday After 5 and are looking forward to the 2021 season and so excited to work with Francine and the Friday After 5 crew.
