When United States Air Force veteran Curtis Cooper of Cadiz passed away last month, there were no surviving family members to honor his memory and service. On Tuesday, a large contingent of his community, fellow veterans, and Fort Campbell soldiers came together to give him a proper send-off.

Cooper's services were held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville with full military honors. A folded American flag was presented to his close friends. Members of the Trigg County High School football team served as pallbearers.

Curtis Cooper was 68.
