The Henderson City-County Rescue Squad has been in need of new equipment so they can better serve those in emergency situations. The squad just received some help via actor Gary Sinise.

The actor's Gary Sinise Foundation has awarded the Henderson Squad with a donation of $52,705 to be used for brand-new equipment such as an E Force 2.0, more commonly known as the "Jaws of Life". The funds will also be used to purchase three airbags for lifting cars off of victims who trapped underneath them, and cribbing, which is used to stabilize vehicles during victim extraction.

The new equipment will help the squad be ready to go in 30 seconds.

A representative from the foundation said the money presented was raised through donations and other activities such as bake sales and other community events.
