There's a really fun event planned for this Saturday at the AT&T Store in Owensboro. If you love pets and food trucks, you're not going to want to miss it.

The AT&T Store recently decided to host a community event to help raise money for SPARKY- Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky. I am the proud owner of two SPARKY rescues- Yogi (a.k.a. Mr. Fancy Pants), the Bichon Frise and Simon (a.k.a. Sweet Baby Boy), a rescued Cairn Terrier. Okay, so you wanna see pics?  You know I've got 'em!

I do a lot of work with SPARKY and can tell you that find amazing "furever" homes for hundreds of dogs and cats annually. On Saturday, from 11am to 7pm, several of those animals up for adoption will be ready to meet you in the parking lot at the AT&T store.

Brittany Lamb has coordinated this event, which features adoptable pets, food trucks and a long list of vendors.  AT&T is excited about their new fiber internet, which continues to expand here in Owensboro. As a matter of fact, 3000 new addresses have been added to the coverage area.

In addition to having SPARKY on site, there will also be food trucks.  Kona Ice will be here and so will an Evansville-based truck called Peachy Treats, which serves a variety of "sweet" treats including chicken & waffles.

In addition to pets and food trucks, there is a pretty good-looking list of vendors who will be on hand too.  Each vendor agreed to make a donation to SPARKY for their "entry fee".
