If You See This Object Over Missouri, It is NOT a UFO or Meteor
I love science. It's unfortunate that I don't understand it better. This is a great example. This object was just spotted in the skies over Missouri. If I didn't know better, I would think it's a meteor or a UFO and I'd be wrong both times.
Dan Bush is a photographer who shares lots of interesting content on Missouri Skies on YouTube. He captured this video today with a description of what you're seeing.
That's the SpaceX launch which happened on September 4, 2022 which you can see here starting around the 10 minute mark.
NASA Spaceflight shared the details of the SpaceX communication satellite launches. The mention that "this launch will bring the number of active Starlink satellites in orbit to about 2,668". I'm no math genius, but that's a lot and represents around 60% of the current satellites in orbit according to their calculations. They also indicate that it takes these satellites around 3 months to reach their desired orbit. Interesting.
The big picture vision of Starlink is to provide high-speed broadband internet to all locations including remote and rural areas. It's not inexpensive, but it is something that could be a game-changer for areas without fast connectivity. Complete global internet connectivity is the goal.
