“It’s a Beautiful Day Outside!” [SHAPED BY FAITH]

A rainy Labor Day Weekend is a bit of a bummer, but there's still reason to rejoice.

My daughter and I enjoy walks together, and it never fails that during our stroll one of us will comment, “It’s a beautiful day outside!  Praise God!”  I believe we say this regardless of the color of the sky because it is just such a joy to be in the fresh air together.

Tonight she told me that she thought it had been a beautiful day outside, but that her neighborhood friend said that it wasn’t.  Being cloudy all day, I can see why he might feel that way, but I reminded her,

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”  Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

No matter the weather outside, if our minds and hearts can remember that every day is a gift from God, we will always see the beauty of the day. Let’s be mindful to see the blessing in the rain and clouds even on Labor Day Weekend.
