Do You Suffer From the Most Common Phobia in Indiana?

We all have things that we are afraid of, phobias if you will. However, you may or may not be surprised by the most common phobia in Indiana.

A phobia is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as "an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation." There are quite a few common phobias that we all know about. Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders, is probably the most common. Of course, you also have claustrophobia (the fear of tight or enclosed spaces), acrophobia (the fear of heights), and then there are some lesser-known phobias that you probably have never even heard of before. Personally, I suffer from two phobias, one of which I knew the name for offhand. The biggest phobia that I have is Ophidiophobia, an intense fear of snakes (which is the one that I didn't know the name of), and I also have acrophobia as well. 

Recently, there was a study based on Google searches where LiveNowFox went state by state to see which phobia was most researched in the area. A lot of these phobias are some that I have never even heard of before. For example, a fear of long words, known as hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. The fact that you have a fear of long words, and it's actually one of the longest names of a phobia out there is kind of ironic. That was actually named as Kentucky's most popular phobia

When it comes to this study, the most searched phobia is trypophobia - fear of holes. My friend, DJ, suffers from this and he has no idea why. There are even Facebook Groups dedicated to support for people who suffer from this, so you are not alone, buddy. However, when it comes to the most common fear in Indiana it is one that has not been previously mentioned thus far in this article.
