The most overpriced fast-food restaurant in the country might not be what you'd guess.

Indiana has a lot of great restaurants that have been open for years. These restaurants have become staples in that area where people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest.

Then you have your go-to fast food restaurants. As you know, there are so many to choose from here in Indiana. Burgers, tacos, pizza, and other sandwiches at these fast food chains in the state are the perfect meal when you're in a rush.

That being said, not all fast-food chains are created equal, right? Some are definitely better than others and there are quite a few that you downright avoid. Whether it be the quality of the food, restaurant conditions, or even the price, there are a variety of reasons why you would and wouldn't choose to go to a certain restaurant. Let's focus on the price factor. One popular fast-food chain was recently named the most expensive fast-food chain in the United States, and to be honest, it isn't the one that I was expecting.

Most Expensive Fast-Food Chain in the Country

Mashed ranked the most and least expensive fast food restaurants, and when it comes to the most expensive, it's a chain that has 185 restaurants in Indiana. Wendy's is apparently the most overpriced fast-food chain in the country.

Here's what Mashed said:

Wendy's topped the list of fast food chains that would break the bank with the restaurant's Baconator burger combo costing more than $12 and a chicken nugget lunch setting you back more than $11.

Now, I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting Wendy's to take the top spot on this list. I kind of figured a place like Five Guys or Long John Silver's would be more overpriced. While both restaurants are delicious, there are certainly cheaper fast-food options. Granted, cheaper doesn't quite mean better food.
