With Independence Day almost here, big plans are in the works to celebrate in Downtown Evansville on July 4th!

In addition to the annual Fireworks on the Ohio River planned for the Evansville riverfront, the folks at Downtown Evansville have shared some additional details on what we can expect as we celebrate our nation's freedom.

Fireworks Are Possible Thanks to Community Support
The fireworks which will take place over the Ohio River are made possible thanks to a number of community partners and sponsors. The annual Fourth of July tradition will take place rain or shine with Riverside Drive closed to vehicular traffic from Court to Cherry Streets.
When and Where to Celebrate Independence Day in Downtown Evansville
Beginning at 6 pm on the evening of Thursday, July 4th, visitors to downtown Evansville will have the opportunity to enjoy plenty of activities for the kids. Plus there will be nearly two dozen food trucks on hand serving delicious eats.

When Are Fireworks in Evansville?
Fireworks are planned for 9:15 pm that evening. You are encouraged to bring your chairs and blankets for the fireworks show, of course, but before you get down to the riverfront to claim your spot, don't forget to pay a visit to the local businesses that will be open and waiting to welcome you.
