Nationwide Recall Impacts Frozen Pizza Product
A nationwide food recall is prompting consumers to check their freezers after a popular frozen product sold at Walmart and other major retailers was pulled from shelves over concerns about possible Salmonella poisoning
The recall affects certain lots of frozen bread products that were distributed nationwide and sold through numerous grocery chains, including Walmart, Kroger, Meijer, Target, Schnucks, and others.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall was initiated after a supplier recalled mild powder that may have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Why the Product is Being Recalled
The FDA says the recalled milk powder was supplied to a third-party manufacturer that produces a seasoning blend used in the affected products.
While routine testing conducted before production reportedly showed negative results for Salmonella, the manufacturer says it is issuing the recall out of an abundance of caution.
What is Salmonella?
Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause serious illness, particularly in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms often include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In more severe cases, the infection can spread beyond the intestines and lead to serious complications requiring medical treatment.
