Why Is The Pasta Being Recalled?

According to the FDA announcement, routine sampling conducted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services found that the finished products may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Distribution of the product has been stopped while the company and the FDA continue investigating the cause.

As of the recall announcement, no illnesses had been reported.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Infection during pregnancy can also cause miscarriage and stillbirth. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms including fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

What Should You Do If You Have the Recalled Pasta?

If you find one of the recalled packages in your freezer, do not eat it.

Consumers are being instructed to return the pasta to the place where it was purchased for a full refund.
