Our offices are in Downtown Evansville so on nice days, my friend Kat and I go for "sunshine walks" where we soak up some vitamin D. Sometimes we stop in local businesses and today's adventure was at Emerald Design. Let me tell you, it was like stepping into a rainbow jungle! Everywhere you looked, there were vibrant colors and lush plants. Turns out, they've been in business for 11 years, but they've only been downtown for a couple. And, they recently moved around the corner to a bigger space right on the walkway.

When you walk in you are greeted by a bright yellow couch, splashes of pink and green, and greenery galore. It's basically a Pinterest board come to life! Sweeping the room, you'll notice pots of all shapes and sizes, macrame wall hangings, books, and of course flowers and plants.

I got to chat with Whitney Muncey, the owner/operator of Emerald Design. She filled me in on the floral experience. Sure, they whip up stunning arrangements for any occasion, from birthdays to weddings. But they also offer a flower bar right there in the shop! And they are a sustainable flower shop. You won't find any dyes, bleaches, or floral foam.

Let me paint you a picture of this flower bar magic: imagine a whole wall decked out with different blooms and greenery, each tagged with a price. You can pick and choose your favorites, then either DIY your arrangement or let one of their expert florists work their magic.

They've got this adorable little air plant bar, a propagation station (for all you plant parents out there), and even a potting area. Got a plant that needs some love? Bring it in, and they'll repot it for you. If you want to learn about plants, they offer classes throughout the year. They also offer a floral subscription - so if you are a person who loves fresh flowers in the house you can sign up for a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly bouquet.

Honestly, Emerald Designs isn't just a shop—it's a plant paradise, and I'm totally here for it!
