Exciting News for Dolly Parton Fans in Kentucky and Indiana
Dolly Parton made an exciting announcement last week. The country music star/icon announced that she’s going to be bringing her brand new album- the 30-track Rockstar- to the big screen for a special preview event on Wednesday, November 15th.
Of course, Dolly made headlines a couple of years ago when it was announced that she was a nominee for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Initially, Dolly declined the nomination. However, she later accepted and was inducted into music immortality.
Dolly, being Dolly, said that she was going to record a rock album. And, well, she has. That album is due out Friday, November 17th and features covers of some of the most popular rock songs in history and collaborations with pop/rock A-listers like Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr, Sting, P!nk, Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, Richie Sambora, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Elton John, Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Pat Benatar and more.
In advance of the album’s official release, Dolly’s going to give fans around the world a special “first listen” with an event that will hit theatre screens around the country.
“Dolly Parton ROCKSTAR: The Global First Listen Event” will give fans a sneak preview of the original songs she wrote for the project and the rock covers she recorded for it as well. Plus, there will be music videos, special performances and an interview will Dolly!
So, where can Dolly Parton fans in southern Indiana and western Kentucky see the Dolly’s First Listen event? Dolly fans in Owensboro can catch it at the Owensboro Malco Cinema Grill on November 15th. Showtime is 7pm and tickets are priced at $21.20. I already bought my tickets for the show and can't wait to see it.
