In Owensboro, Kentucky there's always a telltale sign that Halloween is quickly approaching. You know October 31st is lurking in the shadows when David Wolfe announces the return of his popular Haunts of Owensboro ghost walk. Since 2007, David has been celebrating Owensboro's rather 'spirited' history by conducting guided tours of our most notoriously haunted downtown locations.

David is a devoted fan and researcher of the paranormal, specifically the legendary stories that stem from right here in Owensboro. It's this collection of local folklore and the tales of things that go bump in the night that inspired him to author a book a few years back.

Crowds have flocked to David's tours since their inception and there's no doubt that certain stops have become crowd favorites. David even has one of his own.  He says his favorite local haunt is Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, which he calls "by far the most haunted spot in western Kentucky."

David says he would hold Theatre Workshop's Trinity Center up against other popular haunted destinations in Kentucky, even its most renowned- Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville.

David swears that customers on his tours have had haunted experiences just by standing outside of T.W.O. He says, "That should tell you something."

There are other allegedly haunted stops along David's tour.  Among them- the building that is now home to The Cupola Club (formerly The Campbell Club).  It's there that David claims a "creepy" photo was taken of "a lady looking out at us from the window." Making that photo even more unbelievable is the fact that the building was supposedly empty when it was taken.

David begins his Friday night tours at Ghostly Productions at 203 West 4th Street. As you may have guessed, there is indeed a reason why the tour begins there. David says, "That place has some major hauntings going on inside with everything from things moving to full body apparitions seen by the owner."

Tours begin at 7:00pm CST and cost just $15 per person. David says that price has never changed. It has remained as consistent as the thrills and chills along the haunted route. David says the Haunts of Owensboro tour is an eerie way to get geared up and ready for Halloween. He says, "If you want to hear some great tales of hauntings and hangings and even hoodoo, then come to my tour. And pray you survive!"

To make your Haunts of Owensboro reservation, you can call David at 270-313-5596. He prefers that guests pay in advance of the tour and there are a couple of ways to do that. You can pay via PayPal davidwolfe1971@gmail.com. Or you can pay via Venmo @wolfe2bad
