Last night was a big night for a New Albany, Indiana mortician. ABC's American Idol revealed their top 24 contestants for the season and Kennedy Reid was among them.

Kennedy made quite a splash during the season premiere of American Idol In February. Accompanied by her best friend Jean Ann (who's a fun, free spirit), Kennedy wowed the judges with her rendition of Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountain High." She followed that up with an impromptu (and charming) duet with Luke Bryan. They sang John Conlee's "Rose Colored Glasses" as Jean Ann played the song on the Idol piano.

Then, during Idol's infamous Hollywood Week, Kennedy impressed the judges- Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan- even more. She nearly blew the roof of the newly-minted Idol Arena with her version of the classic gospel hymn "How Great Thou Art?"

This performance, reminiscent of Carrie Underwood's beloved version, is tremendous! Kennedy's voice soared through the song and rafters.

Now that she's part of the Top 24, you'll be able to see Kennedy in action as the show moves to Hawaii for the next round of performancew. In fact, in a special two-night event next week, the Top 24 contestants, for the first time this season, will sing for YOUR votes. The results are now firmly in the voting public's hands.

So, if you want to watch, root and vote for Kennedy Reid, tune in next Sunday and Monday. American Idol airs on ABC at 7pm CST.
