Movie Studio Will Film New Project in Owensboro KY This Fall — Actors, Crew Needed
Because of the success of PJ Starks, Eric Huskisson, and Daniel Benedict, folks in Owensboro have become accustomed to seeing filmmakers doing their thing on our city streets.
Starks and Huskisson have been making movies in the Owensboro/Daviess County area for about 15 years with their most recent effort enjoying a big release party this summer. Meanwhile, Benedict has been hard at it for at least a decade and is currently prepping for a He-Man sequel.
Well, heads up everyone. A relatively new studio called Black Flag Pictures has set its sights on Owensboro as a shooting location, and they plan to begin this fall. But in order get that ball rolling, they'll need actors and crew for Where Have You Gone To. They're looking for actors to play a doctor and a nurse; child actors to portray a bike gang; and actors for non-speaking roles. Black Flag also needs a gaffer/grip and a production assistant.
I'm only going on their first Facebook post, but it looks as if this company came together in January of 2023. And they hit the ground running with a short film called Surreal which premiered April 10, 2023 at the Malco Owensboro Cinema Grill & MXT.
The short film quickly picked up accolades at a couple of film festivals:
