Additional Owensboro KY Locations of Two National Chains Opening Soon
Who wants coffee? Well I do. But, then again, I always do. If java love can be genetic, then my family carries that chromosome. My mom, my grandfather, and my sister are all carry this unique trait. Well, "carried" if you're talking about the first two as they are no longer with us.
National Coffee Chain Scooter's Adding Second Owensboro Location
But we learned at their knee that nothing goes in coffee if we're going to drink it. However, I will absolutely partake of a specialty coffee drink; I'll just call it dessert or something. And for that reason, it's a very good thing Owensboro has a Scooter's Coffee on East Parrish Avenue. The 25-year-old chain opened in early 2023 and became such an instant hit that a second location is already under construction with plans to open soon.
If you've missed it--it IS tiny--you just might be in the minority. So I'll share with you a little Scooter's background.
Founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles in Bellevue, Nebraska, Scooter’s Coffee roasts only the finest coffee beans in the world at its headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. In more than two decades of business, Scooter’s Coffee’s success is simple: stay committed to the original business principles and company’s four core values, which are Integrity, Love, Humility and Courage.
It was actually IN Omaha where I first encountered Scooter's Coffee, and then I never saw another one until it opened in Owensboro last year. And now, here comes the second location on Frederica Street next to Fountain Square in the former Shogun Bistro/Wendy's location. Also, it's just two doors down from where I work. I'm a happy camper.
Here Comes Sonic Number Two (Well, Three) in Owensboro
Speaking of happy campers, I'd imagine there are lots of folks on Owensboro's west side who are giddy with excitement at the prospect of not having to drive across town to get their Sonic fix. The city's newest location on West Parrish Avenue already has signage, so it won't be long now.
In the works since 2022, all signs--well ONE sign, in particular--point to a sooner-than-later opening for the popular chain. But I have a question for all you longtime Owensboroans. Do you remember the FIRST Sonic? I certainly do. It was quite a hangout when I was in high school, so that should tell you how long ago it first set up shop on Frederica Street somewhere between Tamarack Road and Warwick Drive. But since everything along this stretch is new or relatively new, I can't really remember where.
So, technically, Owensboro's THIRD Sonic location is on its way. Just make sure you don't read that sentence out of text and go looking for a third one...or the first one, whichever. It's long gone.
