A big congratulations to Kendall Terry of Owensboro.  Last night, at the Hines Center in Philpot, she was crowned your 2019 Miss Daviess County!

As part of the Daviess County Lions Club Fair pageant, contestants must adopt a platform and present a one-minute speech about that platform to the crowd.  Kendall, who attends Kentucky Wesleyan College, spoke passionately about the Back to School Backpack Ministry she orchestrates through her church, the Wesleyan Christian Center.  Her goal for 2019 is huge . . . 500 backpacks.  As of a couple of days ago, Kendall was, impressively, just a handful of backpacks from goal.

I have known Kendall for years and have worked with her on endless charity events. As one observer noted last night at the pageant, 'She will represent the Lions Club well.  She's exactly what they're looking for in a winner."  And, I can't tell you from vast experience with Kendall, she most definitely is.  When I sent Angel a pic of who won, she said, "OMG!  'Bout time!"  Angel, a former Miss Daviess County herself, has seen Kendall every step of the way as well and is fully aware of the work and commitment this young lady has demonstrated.

Miss Davies County 2018 Celine Le crowned Kendall after it was revealed that she was claiming the title.  Shealyn Mason was 1st runner-up and Mackenzie Clark was named 2nd runner-up.  Both young ladies were sensational last night.

With her win, Kendall joins Presleigh Smeathers as this year's Daviess County Lions Club Fair Pageant winners.  On Thursday evening, Presleigh was named Miss Pre-teen Daviess County.

The Miss Teen Pageant is tonight.  Doors to the The Hines Center open at 6pm.  The pageant begins at 7.  11 contestants are vying for the crown.
