Statistics and methodology have determined Kentucky is the tenth worst state to live in based on "quality of life". And it's not the only state in the listening area to make the top 10.

I get it, tobacco is still a big contributor to our quality of life component. We have the highest rate of adult smokers in the country. I'm not sure I knew we had the highest rate of cancer deaths.

On the positive side, we have one of the lowest violent crime rates in the country.

Unfortunately, our neighbors across the river in Indiana, they are ranked sixth in the top ten worst states. Though the Hoosier State's air quality has improved, their protections against discrimination based on marital status, sexual orientation, and gender identity lands it among the worst.

What baffles me is, all of these states in the top 10, with the exception of New Mexico, are located either in the midwest or in the south.
