Kentucky State Police Find Bomb During Routine Traffic Stop
If you were traveling Interstate 24 down around Eddyville yesterday and you came to a standstill, well we now know why.
During a routine traffic stop, Kentucky State Police discovered a homemade bomb in a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Michael Higgs of Grants Pass, Oregon.
Authorities indicate it was a small improvised device.
But it was clearly large enough to land Higgs in the Caldwell County jail.
The suspect was charged with use of a weapon of mass destruction in addition to firearms, drug and traffic offenses.
There was a passenger in Higgs' vehicle who was not charged.
