The search for an elderly man that began in Union County concluded with the discovery of a decomposed body in rural Henderson County.

Corey King, KSP's public affairs officer, tells us the body was found around 5:15PM in a small creek that was only about a half a mile from where the search began.

There will be an autopsy Thursday in Madisonville to confirm the gentleman's identity.

Kentucky State Police were aided in the search by Daviess County EMA Search and Rescue, Union County EMA, Henderson County EMA, the Union County Sheriff's Department, the Union County Fire Department, and the Henderson County Coroner's Office.
