The makers of King Arthur Flour products have issued a recall of over 14,000 cases of their 5 pound bags of Unbleached All-Purpose Flour after being notified the wheat used to make it could be contaminated with the E. coli bacteria.

According to the recall notice on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website, King Arthur had "been informed by ADM Milling Co. that certain wheat used to make these lots of King Arthur flour has been linked to an ongoing outbreak of E. coli infections."

The products under the recall were distributed to stores nationwide including Aldi, Target, and Walmart, and feature the following Best By Dates and Lot Numbers:

  • BEST USED BY 12/07/19 LOT: L18A07C
  • BEST USED BY 12/08/19 LOTS: L18A08A, L18A08B
  • BEST USED BY 12/14/19 LOTS: L18A14A, L18A14B, L18A14C

Obviously, if you have this brand of flour in your pantry, do not eat it. The FDA recommends throwing it away or taking it back to where you purchased it for a refund.
