Kentucky is basketball country. But you don't need ME to tell you that. But I am going to narrow the focus.

This little stretch of Frederica Street out here in front of WBKR is basketball country, too.

In fact, right across the street, you'll find the home of the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers. And for the first time in history, the Panthers' women's basketball team is nationally ranked.

Huge congratulations.

At 12-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and 21-1 overall (the Panthers just dispatched Lake Erie College 65-57 on the road Saturday), KWC finds itself ranked 24th in the nation--a first for the women's team.

Such awesome news and we are so proud.

Next up for the Panthers is a home stand against 11-10 Findlay at the Sportscenter Thursday afternoon at 5:30.
