Longtime Kroger Employee Todd Reisz Passed Away Last Weekend

If you shop at the Kroger on Wesleyan Park Plaza you most likely knew Todd Reisz.  He worked for the store for 28 years.  Our hearts are so saddened to hear he passed away this past weekend.

In Owensboro we are blessed to have a small town feel even with over 60,000 people.  So shopping at a store on a weekly basis you learn faces and even exchange conversation over time.

I can remember seeing Todd, most times when I shopped at Kroger.  He was always helpful when I had a loaded down cart full of groceries and screaming little ones running around.  He was super sweet and when I saw on my friend Marie Cox's Facebook page that he had passed away my heart sunk.

Christopher “Todd” Reisz, 50, left his earthly home for his home in eternity Sunday, March 17, 2019. He was born in Owensboro on January 14, 1969 to Carolyn Vargason Reisz and the late David Michael Reisz. Todd was employed at Kroger where he worked in customer service for 28 years. He was a history and geography buff, loved music and the Dallas Cowboys. He Loved the Lord, a member of First Baptist Church, and was a devout Christian.

Along with his father, Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. Vargason and Frances H. Vargason, and his aunt, Joan Garrett.

Todd is survived by his aunts, Joyce M. Wood, Mary (Ed) Frances Baker, his uncles, William (Bobbie) C. Vargason, and James (Dot) P. Vargason and numerous cousins.

Private services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.

I spoke with Todd's barber Rick Kirtley, who said Todd was in the shop Saturday and didn't look like he felt well.  He said everytime he saw Todd he would say "How are you doing" and Todd would reply "I'm doing good looks like you're doing good too!"

We would like to send our condolences to Todd's family, friends, and co-workers.  Praying peace and comfort during this time.

Kroger at the Plaza just won't be the same without his sweet face.  He will be missed.
