Man Dies After Getting Stabbed in Owensboro, OPD Investigates

On Monday afternoon, the Owensboro Police Department responded to the 500 block of Monterrey Drive and located an adult male with multiple injuries including a stab wound. Detectives are continuing to investigate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Basham family.

On Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at approximately 6:49 pm, the Owensboro Police Department responded to the 500 block of Monterrey Drive for a traumatic injury and located an adult male identified as James M. Basham, 45 years old of Owensboro, with multiple injuries including a stab wound. Mr. Basham was transported to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
