NASCAR Preview and Jeremy Mayfield Speaks Out on Drug Accusations
NASCAR heads north to Michigan International Speedway Sunday for the Quicken Loans 400. We will have coverage right here on WBKR 92.5 at 11 a.m.
Greg Biffle, who has not yet, told Fox News, “Michigan is a crucial race for us. We have got four wins there as a team and we want to win again.”
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. coming off two wins is, “… confident and happy. (Michigan is) A track where we’ve really done well at.”
And, returning to the Sprint Cup Series for two races is Juan Pablo Montoya. He will be driving #12 Ford for Team Penske.
Owensboro’s NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield is back in the news. He spoke with Sporting News and he still denies the charges of methamphetamine usage and stealing property.
In May of 2009, Mayfield was suspended by NASCAR after he tested positive during a drug test.
Jeremy told Sporting News, “I don’t use drugs, I don’t drink. I might have a couple of beers a year. Maybe. I don’t steal. I haven’t broken into any building, stole race cars like it was told on the news. That’s not what happened. Did I have possession of stolen property? Sure I bought some stuff from a guy thinking it wasn’t stolen.”
Last January, Mayfield pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors of possession of stolen property and one of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He still claims the drug test showing meth was a false positive because he was mixing Adderall and an allergy medicine.
