City/County Store Occupancy Reduced to 25% Customer Capacity

Owensboro mayor Tom Watson and county judge-executive Al Mattingly have issued a joint executive order that will enforce a new level of social distancing in businesses and establish a curfew for those 18 years of age and younger.

Among the directives in the order issued Friday, April 10th, 2020, are an establishment of new occupancy rules for life-sustaining businesses that have been allowed to remain open.

The order states:

"The maximum occupancy at any life-sustaining retail business is hereby reduced to 25% of said figure. Physical barriers at entry and exit points shall not prevent occupants from exiting in case of an emergency."

The new executive order also establishes a curfew that will prohibit anyone under 18 years age from being in public between 9PM and 6AM CST, unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian or they are coming from or going to work.

Additionally, there is now a prohibition on gatherings of 10 more people.

Another part of the order re-states Governor Andy Beshear's prior directives about social distancing and sanitizing within the life-sustaining businesses that are still open.
