Bob Whitmer is keeping things very close to the vest regarding a news conference set for 10am Thursday Aug. 4 at the Owensboro Daviess County Regional Airport. The News Release says very little but could mean alot. I have posted a copy of it here:

OWENSBORO-DAVIESS COUNTY REGIONAL AIRPORT

 To: Media

From: Bob Whitmer – Airport Director

PRESS RELEASE

One of the most exciting announcements in the history of the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport will be made at a press conference 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4 in the Airport terminal – 2200 Airport Road.  We look forward to seeing the media and many members of the community present.

One thing the airport has been discussing is airline service to take over for Kentucky Skies who will be ending its service to Nashville soon. Maybe the announcement will be about the much talked about air show featuring the Blue Angels?

It could be about the expansion of the terminal with the addition of new restrooms inside the gate area. This is something needed since Allegiant Air has been offering non-stop service between Owensboro and Orlando.

Perhaps it is the signing of a new business on airport property or one of the current tenants planning to expand.

What about the Vegas flights that were discussed six months ago or the addition of more military aircraft with the building of the National Guard Readiness Center.

Whatever it is, Bob Whitmer thinks it is big enough to invite not only the media but also the public. He has me more than a bit interested and I guess when I get off the air tomorrow morning at 9am, I will be heading out to the airport to see whats going on. If you can, you might want to come by too.
