As back-to-school merchandise begins to show up on store shelves around Owensboro and Daviess County, we're all looking to the 2020-21 school year and what the impending fall semester will look like.

Owensboro Public Schools will not be releasing its reopening plan until July 24th, but we do know that a virtual option will be on the table.

The "OPS Virtual Academy Intent to Register" indicates that there will be special stipulations should families choose the virtual option.

Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for Daviess County Public Schools, Jana Beth Francis, says that opportunities will be there for families to select a full-time virtual option for the coming year, which means all classes would be virtual should families make that choice.

Both OPS and DCPS are conducting surveys with students' families regarding all aspects of reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.
