Attention listeners of WBKR and WOMI. Make sure your tickets are bought, your schedule’s clear, and your jeans are ready to be worn. That’s right I said jeans. Saturday February 25th 2012 the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra is putting on a show and even the band is wearing their blue jeans. Debbie Stites the Marketing Director of OSO is super excited about the bands show. The symphony first started in 1967, yet this is Debbie’s 2ond year with the Orchestra. She has always had a passion for music and believes it’s an important part of life. If interested in history you can find anything about the symphony from their website at www.theoso.com. All concerts are held at the river park. The band that’s playing the Jeans n Classics concert is from Canada; however, there are 72 members of the Orchestra and no one but the best is involved. When I asked Debbie what drew her into the music she told me the beauty of the music and not to mention the excitement of the audience. For the families with children if you’re interested in attending the OSO also has concert curators it’s a program for children while you’re in the show. Each child gets a snack, craft, musical adventure, and discovery time. Sign up by calling (270)687-2732 prices for an OSO subscriber, and OMSH is $8, and $10 for a non-subscriber. Also the Magical Music of Disney will be here March 24th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. So mark your calendars and bring them down. Parking is available in the garage.
