Pier 1 Imports to Close Up to 450 Stores, Including Owensboro

Say it isn't so. Pier 1 Imports in Owensboro will be closing their doors in the very near future. The store closing and sale signs were posted on the front windows.

On Tuesday, we heard that Pier 1 Imports Inc. planned to close nearly half of its stores and some distribution centers. Now, we know that Owensboro is on the list. The store is set to close in Spring 2020. First LifeWay Christian Store and now this? I stopped by today and it was tough to see the familiar faces that will no longer be employed. Some of the nicest people, who always greet you with a smile.

The closing won't happen quickly as they are still getting trucks, with merchandise deliveries. The product discounts just got started throughout the store. If this is your go to for home furnishings, then you'll want to be on the lookout for those falling prices. To Pier 1, I just wanted to say that your team is special and your store will be missed. Oh, and your smiles will be missed too.

Will Evansville's Pier 1 Imports be closing? This location won't be one of the 450 set to close their doors, as of now.
